[Harry]

THE CONVERSATION is a gritty little thriller of a movie from 1974, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, and starring Gene Hackman.

It's always been a favorite of mine, telling the story of master-bugger Harry Caul and the adventure he gets caught up in during a convention of buggers in San Francisco.

In several scenes, Harry is seen playing a saxophone along with a high-fidelity jazz recording in his apartment. What I just realized today was that the jazz combo he's "jamming" with featured Pete Jolly on piano. It also had Don Menza on tenor sax, Conte Candoli on trumpet, Ray Brown on bass, Shelly Manne on drums, anf Jack Nimitz on baritone sax.

I've had the soundtrack on CD for awhile, but just noticed Mr. Jolly's name in the CD credits.
