| I have been wondering if anyone has ever sent anything to the carpenters address on their web page to get signed by Richard, and what was their experience with the process, good...bad...? |

I have not done that personally, but have heard good things from members on both KarenCarpenter.com and Leadsister.com
One member recently mentioned a turn-around time of something like 3 weeks from mailing to receiving the autograph back.....

| I won a contest on this site a year or two ago and along with winning was Richard's willingness to autograph the CD for me if I sent it to him. He did it graciously. Over the years I was given an autograph by Karen when I met her, a Birthday card autographed by Karen and a photo autographed by Richard when I think I pissed him off in Valley Forge many years ago. They both were awesome to their fans as I can fairly report. |

Sounds like you got an awusom Collection going there! Lucky!
Btw What did you say to tick of RC?
I sent a few letters back in the late 1990's to the downey address and got a fairly quick responce and a autographed photo from RC(sorry to say ive lost it after all those years ago). My question's reply's were responded by the carpenters Famous secretary Eveilyn wallace (hope i seplled her name correctly).

| I found an import copy of "Offering" at a record store in Dallas a few weeks ago. I was hoping to get it and send it to him and have him sign it. |

Knowing how much Richard hates that OFFERING photo, I'd think twice before sending it to him!

Okay fine, well then he can just take it out of the box, sign it and put it right back to be mailed back to me. No harm done. |

A friend of mine attended both Karen's wedding in 1980 and Richard's wedding in 1984 in Los Angeles. Her Dad was and remains close friends with Richard. I went to school with his daughter, and met her just after Karen died. Bad timing on my part.
Anyway, she took my "Ticket to Ride" cover and inside sleeve for "Made In America", and he signed them the weekend of his wedding for me in May, 1984. Still have them framed. |

RC has always been very kind and accomodating when it comes to his fans. No need to worry about the LP cover, "it is what it is", to phrase a quote and he (Mr. C) would never shy away from a sincere fan. _________________ Looking To My Dreams... |

My comment about thinking twice before sending a copy of OFFERING was meant in a humerous vein. I certainly don't think Richard would deliberately sabotage a fan's album cover. I guess I should've used a smiley or something...

I still wish the TICKET remaster would've had the Offering cover on the back side of the booklet, so a fan could have whatever cover he prefers showing on the CD. _________________ Mike B. |

| Yeah, that would have been a much better option. |

| I sent 3 cd covers and a tour program to him back in September which he signed, personalized and dated in a little over 2 weeks. Very quick response. |

When I first joined Carpenters Fan Club in 1974, as a kid I sent many requests for publicity photos and for personally signed autographs. They were all answered timely and courteously. Things like that meant the world to me, and along with the timeless music, it has sustained me as a faithful fan until this day.
